More than 60% of HR Weekly poll respondents say their organizations will add staff in 2012, but 17% indicate it’s too soon to make that call.

We conducted the poll in late December 2011.

Almost half say they plan to make several hires this year, up from 41% when we asked about hiring plans in August 2011. However, the number making plans to trim staff also rose, from 2% in August to 8% in December.

14% Yes, one or two new employees

13% No, we’re standing pat

8% We plan to cut staff
